OnePlus to Focus on Higher Refresh Rates for New Devices

The CEO of OnePlus has announced that the company will usher in a new era of smartphone technology. This is set to be one of the biggest improvements to happen in the last decade, with Apple making similar moves. The iPhone 17 supports a 120Hz display, which indicates that high refresh rates could soon become the industry standard.

The New Tech is Set to Improve Consumer Experiences

According to the CEO, the introduction of upgraded 120Hz technology will not only give consumers more choices but also improve the overall experience. The OnePlus 15 supports these claims as well, with the device having a refresh rate of 165Hz to support the demands of modern-day entertainment. The OnePlus 15 has a 6.78-inch OLED display, which is very similar to the OnePlus 13, which was a huge hit with fans. Instead of 2K, it offers a 1.5K resolution.

Even though the drop in screen quality is a bit of a concern, the 165Hz refresh rate helps to make the device more suited to watching shows on Netflix and gaming. Those who play fast-paced games will really stand to benefit from improvements like this as well, as the content will be more fluid and smooth, largely due to the technological upgrades.

Even non-intensive games stand to run better, as a result of the higher refresh rate. Take popular video slots, for example, like Roving Clover and Lava Balls. Both games can run on a device with much lower operating requirements, but at the same time, the higher refresh rate means that games are smooth and seamless, which leads to better transitions between animations and bonus rounds. Although this is very positive and great news for gamers, that’s not the only thing that we have to look forward to.

Other Features We Can Expect from OnePlus

Other features we can expect from new phones include a better camera. They have cut ties with Hasselblad this time around, and a lot of people have been excited to see the new rear camera unit. They have also added a DetailMax picture processing engine.

This uses different technology, so that images can be captured in more detail, and photographs are much clearer. If you look at the Ultra-Clear 26-Megapixel mode, you will find that this takes 12-megapixel shots but within a 50-megapixel frame.

The result is essentially a 26-megapixel image, but with a bigger depth of field and more clarity. OnePlus might claim this to be the case, but we do not have any evidence from users as to whether or not this is an improvement in camera quality or simply an additional way to experiment with new technology.

The phone is set to launch in three different colours, including Sand Storm, Infinite Black, and Ultra Violet. Each has a treatment to the chassis which helps it to really stand out, with the black model having a unique frosted glass case, for those who want a sleeker design.
